Gokyo Valley Trek is one of the popular treks in the Khumbu region. It is a spectacular alpine valley, which is the last settlement of this route. Beside the valley, there is a blue glacial lake that is the prime attraction of the trek. An exciting hike to the Gokyo Ri offers the eye catching panoramas of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Gokyo peak and other trekking peaks of Everest. Be sure, you are acclimatized enough to trek in the high Himalayan zone with a great confidence.
Beginning a trek from the tiny airstrip of Lukla, it goes over the Dudh Koshi valley and through the rhododendron and birch forest of the Sagarmatha National Park, which is the highest national park in the world. Exploring the Sherpa culture, traditions and heritages at Namche Bazaar and Khumjung, your trip moves over through Dole and Machhermo, this ultimately leads you to the Gokyo Valley. During the trek, you get chance to view some of the isolated valleys and people with a great hospitality. It is not necessary to describe how it looks around the Gokyo valley and the lifelong experience to hike to Gokyo Ri and view the fascination of the Ngozumba glacier and the airborne peaks. It is better to hike early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise views over the white peaks. Also the views of five Lakes are spectacular.
