Muktinath is one of the famous pilgrimage sites in Nepal. It is located beyond the Annapurna white peaks, in the trans-Himalayan region. The Muktinath tour begins from Beni, the district center of Myagdi after about 7-8 hour drive from Kathmandu.
From Beni, you take a drive through the Kali Gandaki gorge and the fantastic scenery of the surrounding landscape. Crossing the windy valley, you reach to Kagbeni, which is an ancient village and a gateway of the Upper Mustang. The Upper Mustang trail splits from Kagbeni. Then you drive further to Muktinath and walk around the holy place. You have something to do here, the sacred place for the Hindu and Buddhist devotees as bathing and worshipping. The Muktinath temple is dedicated to Lord Visnu and 108 water sprouts are there outside. The devotees believe that one gets rid of their sins if they could visit this temple once in their lifetime. After spending a day, the next day you drive to Beni to precede your further destination.
